I have a friend or two looking for that perfect mate. When I ask them how they will know he’s the right one, they’re not really sure but figure they’ll know him when they see him. My advice to them is that if you know your purpose and calling first, then you’ll know who fits into that picture and who doesn’t.
The same goes for things we’re involved in. Sometimes we want to do it all and we certainly have the capability. But King Solomon stated in Ecclesiastes that there is a time and a season for everything under the sun. So while you may logistically be able to pull everything off all at once, the question is, is that what’s best for you?
Some things that worked in the past may not be what God is calling you to right now. And when you make room for new things, God may bring a person or an opportunity your way that you wouldn’t otherwise have time for if you were to continue doing the things you’ve always done.
Instead of making a To-Do List, make a Not-To-Do List. I want you to really think about who and what should be on that Not-To-Do List for this new season of your life.
Make a list and evaluate
1. Those people and things that are simply not working in your life
2. Those people and things that are good but distracting you from focusing on God’s best for this season of your life so you can move forward in your purpose and calling.
Who or what are you saying no to so you can yes to God’s best?
