2 Corinthians 6:11-13 in The Message version encourages us to “Enter this wide-open, spacious life…your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way…open up your lives. Live openly and expansively! This Scripture exhorts us not to embrace a prosperity message, but to live bigger than we are in some or all of the areas of our lives. Sometimes we compromise out of fear or maybe we’ve been hurt and we just want to settle for what’s safe. Well, God is calling you to come out of your comfort zone and live the life He’s calling you to live!”
We could all be living a little more openly and expansively. Sometimes when things don’t go the way we want, we tend to settle for second best or compromise in one or more areas of our life so we don’t get hurt or disappointed again. Many of us are living beneath our potential for this reason and God is calling us collectively as a people to get out of our comfort zone and live up to our potential.
That means expanding our vision beyond where we are, especially in those areas where we might be settling. The Israelites had to be exhorted to move forward after settling this side of the Jordan when God had so much more for them in the Promised Land.
What is God calling you to? Is it time for you to expand your vision and begin to move forward into the Promised Land?
